Netflix Is Testing Their Higher Prices

Netflix wants to go even more premium than it is currently now.

This new plan could either impact the number of screens allowed on its "Premium" plan (the current highest tier), which right now includes four screens for $US13.99 a month, or only offer HDR to "Ultra" subscribers (not "Premium" ones).

It looks like the popular streaming platform, Netflix, is getting a more expensive option for those looking for the "ultra" experience, and it seems as though the company is trying to launch a new higher priced option but without actually changing the price of its current plans.

The only current difference between Premium and Ultra is that the latter includes HDR content.

Netflix is testing a new "Ultra" plan in Europe that would support 4K ultra-high-definition video on four simultaneous streams, along with high dynamic range (HDR).

Anthony Bourdain's will reveals he left his estate to his daughter
The will reportedly states that Bourdain's 11-year-old daughter, Ariane Busia-Bourdain, will receive the majority of his fortune. Anthony Bourdain's wallet had far less in it than most people would have figured when he hanged himself in June .

That's three euros higher than the highest-price plan now offered.

Cordcutting.com has also spotted pricing and included options for the new "Ultra" plan in Germany.

But more likely there will be many homes wanting the stream on up to four devices and need to move up to the Ultra plan for that alone. The other version offers both "Premium" and "Ultra" subscribers four streams, but only "Ultra" includes HDR, which enhances colour and detail.

The tests were confirmed by a spokesperson from Netflix to CNET and said that in this present case, they are testing little different price points along with the features to have a better understanding about how customers are valuing Netflix.

Should the Ultra plan become a reality and Netflix adopts changes in the lower-priced Premium and Standard plans, some US homes with multiple TVs and other screens might be faced with choosing a higher-priced plan and paying $3 to $6 more per month.
