New study shows Nike sales increase 31 percent after releasing Kaepernick ad

Nike memes

Some Nike fans protested the brand's move to feature Colin Kaepernick its latest ad campaign by burning their sports gear. But the research confirms that, at least for now, the company is suffering no negative repercussions in sales. According to the report, following a brief decline, the shoe giant's online sales grew 31 per cent which was substantially better than 2017's 17 per cent increase during that same time period. "Even if it manner sacrificing every little thing", to boot to a Ninety-2nd industrial featuring video clips of infamous athletes equivalent to LeBron James and Serena Williams, accompanied by a narrate-over and look from Kaepernick himself.

So offended, that not only did they swear to never again purchase Nike products, but also felt compelled to passionately destroy whatever Swoosh-adorned apparel they already owned, and had already given Nike their money for.

But from a sales perspective, the company came out of the week a victor, according to one study.

Nike has always positioned itself as an edgy brand, willing to innovate - and that is perhaps why they have been the first to put a foot forward in this issue and support Kaepernick's crusade.

And it seems that Liberty University is not the only educational establishment where the ads have provoked anger, with Missouri's College of the Ozarks, a private christian institution, announcing Friday that it was removing Nike sportwear from its athletics teams and choosing "country over company".

Cantona claims Guardiola better for United than 'no fun' Mourinho
John Terry has questioned whether former boss Jose Mourinho has the strong leaders he needs to succeed at Manchester United . On the other hand, Edison Cavani and Alcantara are rumored to leave their respective clubs.

Kaepernick, formerly the quarterback for the San Francisco 49ers, was a controversial choice due to his notoriety for kneeling during the national anthem at NFL games. Shares of the company were up less than one percent in midmorning trade on Wednesday; the stock had dropped almost 4 percent at one point on Tuesday. I don't think it's appropriate what they did, ' Trump said.

By supporting Kaepernick, Nike has entered the political fray many sport brands might have avoided for fear of alienating some customers. The NFL star sparked controversy when he started kneeling during the national anthem to protest police brutality and racial inequality.

But Woods, though he has been a Nike-sponsored athlete since turning professional in 1996, does not appear in the advert. "It's a lovely spot and pretty powerful people [are] in the spot", he added.

"I think Nike's trying to get out ahead of it and try and do something that's special".
