Five Palestinians killed by Israelis in border protest

Israel accuses Hamas of orchestrating the weekly border riots that have taken place since March to provide cover for attacks. During that time around 200 Palestinians have been killed by the Israeli army. The Bedouin village is said to be slated for demolition and Palestinian villagers have been protesting against the imminent move. It said that several Gazans later embarked on the border and approached an IDF sniper's post before being shot dead.

In a statement issued late on Friday it said that soldiers saw people climbing the fence in southern Gaza and placing an explosive device on the barrier, which set it on fire.

Hamas had seized control of Gaza from Western-backed Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas in 2007 and has since fought three wars with Israel, most recently in 2014.

"In addition, Hamas continues to welcome any terrorist attack and encourages the Palestinians, residents of the West Bank, to carry out attacks against Israeli citizens".

Al-Qedra said that Ahmad al-Taweel, 27, Mohamed Ismail, 29, Ahmad Abu Ne'eim, 17 and Abdullah al-Daghma, 25, were killed in east of al-Bureij refugee camp in central Gaza Strip, close to the border with Israel.

A relative says Aisha Rabi, 48, was traveling with her husband and two daughters to their home in Bidya early Saturday when their vehicle was pelted with stones.

Minutes after the incident, Israeli forces also entered the high school and provided protection for the settlers while escorting them out of the area. Between 500,000 and 600,000 Israelis live in Jewish-only settlements across occupied East Jerusalem and the West Bank in violation of global law. And on Thursday, a Palestinian man stabbed and wounded an Israeli soldier, raising the possibility of a revenge attack.

Israeli forces killed seven Palestinians on Friday in protests along Gaza's border, Gaza health officials said.

No IDF troops were harmed in the incident.

At least 50 protesters were injured by Israeli fire, Gaza media outlets reported.

On October 10, Israeli anti-Zionist and global activists were invited to the Gaza fence across from an encampment of the Great March of Return.

The Israeli army said approximately 14,000 "rioters and demonstrators" had gathered at various sites along the border.

.

The Israeli military has been criticised by the Palestinians as well as several global human rights groups for its lethal response to the protests.
