Pipe bomb suspect Cesar Sayoc scheduled to appear in Miami federal court

Who Is Cesar Sayoc? What We Know About Suspicious Package Suspect So Far

Sayoc told investigators after he was arrested in Plantation, Florida that the pipe bombs wouldn't have hurt anyone, and that he didn't want to hurt anyone, according to a law enforcement official.

In that way, Sayoc - now known as the mail bomb suspect - had already transformed into the human avatar of his van's rolling fever dream of political paranoia.

The FBI said via its Twitter account that the recovered package in Atlanta was "similar in appearance" to the bubble-wrapped manila envelopes authorities say were sent by Sayoc to intended targets from DE to California, including former President Barack Obama, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and former Vice President Joe Biden.

Sayoc has been held without bond since he was taken into custody in south Florida Friday by federal agents after a four-day nationwide manhunt for the person who sent homemade pipe bombs to Trump critics including Obama and former first lady and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, whom Trump defeated in the 2016 presidential race.

If convicted of these federal crimes, he faces 48 years in prison. Prosecutors are expected to try to move his case to NY, where most of the packages were discovered.

Sayoc will likely be transferred to the United States Southern District of NY for trial.

Sayoc made an initial appearance Monday in Miami federal court, where prosecutors said they will seek to keep Sayoc jailed until trial, calling him a flight risk and a danger to the community. Lowy said Sayoc's mother is distraught.

"What he says to us, any one of us, is something you will never know", said attorney Daniel Aaronson of the Fort Lauderdale firm Benjamin, Aaronson and Patanzo.

Although authorities did not immediately say who might be responsible for the most recent package to CNN, the Federal Bureau of Investigation said it believes the package discovered Monday is similar to those that Sayoc is accused of sending.

Many Tesla owners are diehard fanatics, so it wouldn't surprise me if they just called this "fake news" and moved on quickly. The Lincoln brand came in at No. 20, although its reintroduced Lincoln Continental model was recommended for reliability.

Today yet another suspicious package was found in Atlanta, addressed to CNN, which authorities believe is linked to the other devices found last week.

The video shows Sayoc casually chatting with co-workers, eating and rifling through stacks of papers.

Sayoc, 56, has been charged with sending more than a dozen potential bombs to various Democratic and media figures who have been critical of Trump.

The bodybuilder had previously worked as a male dancer for several years and more recently as a pizza driver. Other charges against him have included grand theft, fraud and illegal possession of steroids.

In 2002, he was arrested after Miami police said he threatened to bomb a power company, saying "it would be worse than September 11th".

Records show he threatened to make it "bigger than 9/11".

Sayoc now faces charges that range from transporting explosives across state lines and illegally mailing explosives to threatening former presidents, threatening interstate communications and assaulting officers of the federal government.

Investigators scouring his social media accounts had found the same spelling mistakes on his online posts - "Hilary" Clinton, Deborah Wasserman "Shultz" - as on the mailings he'd soon be charged with sending.

In a tweet, the FBI confirmed that it was like the other devices intercepted last week, which FBI Director Christopher Wray last week described as 'Improvised Explosive Devices, ' or IED's.
