Lakers' Ball day-to-day with ankle sprain

Los Angeles Lakers coach Luke Walton says point guard Lonzo Ball is day-to-day after spraining his left ankle in a blowout loss to the Denver Nuggets on Tuesday. "I'll get it treated and be ready to go on Thursday".

"I thought we came out and just took it to them", Millsap said.

Ball sprained his ankle as he was backpedaling and landed on a Nuggets player who was on the floor. "But he wanted to give it a go".

He's taken over the major responsibility of running the point, since Rajon Rondo has been recovering from a broken hand, and he's apparently not taking orders from the coaching staff on how to do so. Rondo was recently cleared to participate in some non-contact practice drills.

For the past few seasons, since he left his post as head coach of Texas, Brown has worked as college football analyst for ESPN . Brown, a Cookeville, Tenn. native, coached the Tar Heels from 1988-1997, amassing a 69-46-1 record during his tenure.

"Just the way that we play, with the pace that we play, it's just tough to lose any one of our point guards, let alone not having both of them", Lakers star LeBron James said. He was an instrumental figure in the offensive system that turned the Golden State Warriors into a dynasty, but he's younger than some active National Basketball Association players. We could have done a little better job of shutting them down in the paint but overall I think we did a really good job of coming in and establishing what we wanted to do, paying attention to the game plan. [Ball] didn't see him, stepped on his foot, rolled his ankle pretty good.

After the contest, multiple Lakers talked about Ball's importance to the team, starting with LeBron James. Murray, the seventh overall pick in the 2016 NBA Draft, is averaging 17.4 points per game, 4.4 rebounds, and 4.6 assists.

The 30 missed three-pointers is a season high and also the worst percentage in Lakers history when the team has shot attempted more than 30 three-pointers.
