Saudi Crown Prince meets United Nations chief, other leaders, on G20 sidelines

Saudi businessmen have on several occasions expressed their willingness to further their investments in Algeria, hoping that the local authorities would remove certain restrictions linked to foreign investments in their country.

Algiers is the latest stop for the Saudi crown prince who has been on a regional tour that has seen him visit the UAE, Bahrain, Egypt, Tunisia, Mauritania and his recent stop in Argentina where he took part in the annual G20 summit.

Canada has been outspoken on human rights in Saudi Arabia, which has retaliated by breaking off diplomatic relations and vowing to end trade.

But the prince is not out of the woods yet. "Unless the perpetrators are found out, the whole world and the Islamic community shall not be satisfied".

"(Jamal) believed that MBS (the Crown Prince) is the issue, is the problem and he said this kid should be stopped", Abdulaziz said in an interview with CNN on Sunday. "Worldwide public opinion will not be satisfied until all those responsible for his death are revealed".

Meanwhile Secretary of State Mike Pompeo has told CNN that he saw all the intelligence held by the U.S. on the killing and said there was no direct evidence linking Prince Mohammed to the murder.

"The Prime Minister stressed that the humanitarian situation remained dire and reaffirmed United Kingdom commitment to making progress on improving the situation, including through a UN Security Council Resolution", the spokesman said.

The Wall Street Journal, quoting the Central Intelligence Agency assessment, said Saturday that Prince Mohammed sent at least 11 messages in the hours before the killing to a close adviser charged with overseeing the murder. Qahtani served as the royal court adviser but fired shortly after Khashoggi's death. He has also been sanctioned by Washington.

They also have a record of the prince talking about "making arrangements" to deal with Khashoggi from 2017.

It's inner workings are opaque, though, so outside observers have to look for signals or past experiences to gauge how Crown Prince Mohammed is faring in the wake of Khashoggi's death.

Keeping Khashoggi in the headlines will prove increasingly hard as it seems much of the world has signalled that it is moving on.
