Michael Cohen postpones Capitol Hill testimony, claiming ‘ongoing threats’ from Trump

Trump Reportedly “Furious” Over Giuliani’s Recent Media Flops

President Donald Trump's former personal lawyer Michael Cohen is postponing his February 7 testimony to the U.S. Congress because of threats against his family from Trump, his adviser said on Wednesday.

President Donald Trump's former lawyer Michael Cohen is postponing his scheduled testimony to Congress next month due to threats against his family from Mr Trump.

Davis said "family is out of bounds", adding that Congress should censure Trump for his comments and investigate Giuliani.

Cohen had been scheduled to appear before the House Oversight Committee on February 7 to testify about his work for Trump, including contacts with Russian Federation during the 2016 election and hush payments he made allegedly at Trump's direction to two former lovers of the president. He's only been threatened by the truth. Lynch said that Cummings was still conferring with Democrats on his panel before making a final decision. Cohen announced through his attorney-turned-spokesman Lanny Davis that he would be cancelling his testimony before Congress because of "ongoing threats" from Trump and Trump's attorney Rudy Giuliani.

During the interview on "GMA" Thursday morning, Cohen's attorney reassured that his client will testify at some point.

President Donald Trump is not angry at his attorney Rudy Giuliani, despite the former NY mayor's contradictory answers in recent interviews about a proposed Trump Tower project in Moscow, sources told CNN Tuesday - and Giuliani is not going anywhere.

Boy wins science fair proving Tom Brady's a cheater
Brady has steadfastly denied the allegation and ended up helping the Patriots win Super Bowl LI after serving his suspension. Ace Davis, 10, is moving onto districts after winning his school's science fair with a ground-breaking science experiment.

As Law&Crime noted earlier, it appeared Davis was focusing on President Trump and Giuliani's recent statements about Cohen's father-in-law. Trump has posted other tweets in recent weeks suggesting that Cohen's father-in-law and wife may have links to criminal activity. And USA Today points out that "court filings by Mueller in November make clear that negotiations led by Trump lawyer Michael Cohen continued through at least June 2016".

Two key House Democratic chairman said Wednesday that they sympathized with Cohen's concerns but that ultimately this was not up to him. Jim Jordan, R-Ohio, the top Republican on the Oversight Committee, and Rep. Mark Meadows, R-NC, a leader of the House Freedom Caucus and a Trump confidant, appeared to be casting aspersions on Cohen and Davis and the circumstances of the hearing - while raising questions about Davis, his involvement with Cohen and his compensation.

Trump has said Cohen changed his story to get a lighter prison sentence.

- December 12, 2018: Cohen is sentenced to three years in prison.

"As we stated previously with our colleague, Chairman Jerry Nadler of the Judiciary Committee, efforts to intimidate witnesses, scare their family members, or prevent them from testifying before Congress are textbook mob tactics that we condemn in the strongest terms", Cummings and Schiff said.

Still others, like Cohen nemesis Michael Avenatti, flat out said Team Cohen was full of it.
