FIJI Water Girl Is Suing FIJI Water Over Cardboard Cutouts

Fiji Water Girl Kelleth Cuthbert is suing the company that helped make her famous for allegedly using her likeness in a marketing campaign without her consent.

In her complaint, Steinbach says Fiji tried to use "gifts to entice" her to agree to the cutouts, as well as "pressured Steinbach into video recording a fake signing of a fake document to simulate Steinbach signing on as a Fiji Water Ambassador" (her legal team says it wasn't a valid contract).

According to Cuthbert, Fiji asked her to meet at the company's Los Angeles office in an attempt to negotiate a subsequent deal after she learned that the cutouts had been installed in stores around the city.

Cuthbert claims the unauthorised use of her likeness has damaged her "peace, happiness, feelings, goodwill, professional standing, and future publicity value". They maintain that after the Golden Globes, they had negotiated a generous amount which Cuthbert had violated. 'We are confident that we will prevail in court. "Throughout our history, we have had a sterling reputation working with talent", reads the statement.

Kelleth became a sensation online thanks to her photobombing ways at the Golden Globes.

The model, who is reportedly suing both The Fiji Company and the brand's marketing partners, The Wonderful Company, believes she has generated over $12 million (£9.1 million) in brand exposure for the company.

The model says she was "pressured" into recording a fake signing, which was meant to show her signing on as a Fiji Water Ambassador.

Fiji Water is in some hot water.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's arrival prompts Anthony Martial to sign new deal
Rather than allow him to drop into the free agent pool, the Red Devils worked hard to put an extension in place. He's a handful and with Anthony [Martial] injured we thought that was the best option with Rashy out there".

Not everyone was amused by Kelleth's stunt at the Golden Globes.

If Cuthbert's claims are proven, she may have a viable and lucrative case.

But not everyone was impressed with the ploy.

On January 6, Steinbach became the talk of the internet after she stood behind stars on the red carpet with her tray of Fiji Water.

"I knew why there was a photographer poised there and I moved away as I said out loud that I didn't want to be doing advertising for either".

"The sponsors of events need to get permission from people when they get them to take their picture next to products".

'This is something I would go viral for, ' she told Glamour. "I mean, it's the Golden Globes".

You will think that I've been cloned, but those are actually cardboards that mother (@FIJIWater) is spreading worldwide. "If you're going to be trapped in a photo, you gotta look good". "You've got to angle".
