Honor Tablet X10 Mini launches in China with a 90Hz screen
The Honor Tablet X10 Mini is making a refreshingly modest introduction in China: a 9.7-inch screen, a big battery and no immediate demand to replace your entire working life. Honor’s first-sale promotion began October 23; its official Chinese store currently advertises the selected 4GB/128GB Wi-Fi version at CNY1,099. That is a Chinese-market price, not a Canadian bargain waiting to be converted with a calculator and a hopeful little smile.
The screen is the sensible place to start.
A small everyday tablet with a 90Hz display
The LCD has a 2052 × 1152 resolution and a refresh rate of up to 90Hz, shown in Honor’s Chinese product-page infographic. Honor lists Snapdragon 685 and 128GB of storage, expandable with a microSD card up to 2TB. These are everyday-tablet specifications, so think reading, video and lighter tasks before mentally appointing it head of a very demanding creative department.
There is something rather sweet about a gadget that might simply do the little jobs well. A recipe beside the chopping board. A book that does not share its screen with every message. A video while the laundry performs its mysterious final three minutes for the seventh time. A tablet does not need to run your whole life to deserve a place in it.

The large battery is promising, but it is still a specification
Honor lists a typical 8,000mAh battery, while its Chinese product infographic gives a weight of 447g. We have not measured endurance, charging time or comfort. Battery capacity alone cannot tell you how many evenings of streaming you will get, and refresh-rate settings can change the result. A large number is allowed to flirt; it still needs to show up for the actual day.
If you can handle one, check the weight in the position you normally read. Test text at your preferred size, rotate the screen and open the apps you need. Affordable hardware becomes a poor deal surprisingly quickly if the one service you bought it for behaves like an unwilling house guest.
Now, about that tempting launch offer.

The launch benefits need an actual claim
The official China promotion runs through November 30 and includes conditional two-year screen and battery service benefits. Eligible buyers must complete the required purchase, device activation and claim through My Honor within the promotion period. The battery benefit requires an authorised assessment showing capacity below 80%; it is not an unconditional promise to hand out a fresh battery whenever one looks a bit tired.
For readers outside China, this is product news rather than a local buying recommendation. The sources checked do not establish a Canadian release, local warranty or price. Before importing any tablet, check the exact software, app availability, repair arrangements and return terms. A tiny saving can acquire some impressively large paperwork.
Where it fits
Our Lenovo Yoga support-policy report is a useful reminder to ask how long a tablet stays supported. For a pricier alternative with a different ambition, see the Galaxy Tab S12 launch. The X10 Mini’s appeal is more straightforward: enough screen for the small, pleasant jobs. We rather like that idea. It just needs to do those jobs nicely once the launch-price butterflies settle down.
