Sony releases a stability update for BRAVIA 6 A60 televisions
Sony’s BRAVIA 6 A60 has a small housekeeping job to do. No glamorous new trick, just a request to please behave during the film. Firmware 7.260716.030 is available for the specified models, and Sony’s official US support notice, dated September 29, 2026, lists improved general TV stability as the benefit. Quietly useful is still useful.
First, let’s check the name on the back.
Which models are covered?
The covered models are K-48A60, K-55A60, K-55A60C, K-65A60, K-65A60C, K-77A60, K-77A60C and K-83A60. Match the full model number against Sony’s support page for your region. “BRAVIA 6” alone isn’t enough to confirm compatibility; those extra letters are being fussy for a reason.

Got a match? Here’s where to look.
How to check
Sony directs owners through Home and the Dashboard button, then All settings, System and About. The Android TV OS build shows the installed version. Add System update to that path to check for an available update. A few menu stops, then hopefully back to the sofa.

If nothing appears, give the remote a little peace. Sony says automatic downloads arrive in stages, so a television may report that it is up to date before the newer firmware becomes available to it. Repeatedly checking won’t move it to the front of the queue, however persuasive the button pressing feels.
Want a TV update with more play involved? LG’s 8 Ball Pool announcement covers a different platform. Our television news coverage makes room for the maintenance jobs as well as the fun additions.
DeviceCritique’s take
The release notes give us very little to gossip about: they identify no specific picture-quality change. This is a maintenance update to check through the television’s supported update process, and we have not independently measured its effect on reliability. Still, a TV that quietly does its job is allowed to be the favourite. We need somebody in the living room to have their life together.
