HomePod mini 2 reaches Canada at CAD $199
The tiny speaker has arrived. Its very ambitious assistant still has “coming later” on the calendar. Cute little orb, surprisingly familiar software situation.
Apple’s October 13 announcement set October 30 as HomePod mini 2’s Canadian retail release. Its Canadian store now lists it at CAD $199.
This is the availability milestone, rather than a second announcement: Canadian shoppers can now move from preorder plans to the launch-day buying decision. Check the store’s delivery or pickup estimate for your location before treating that as a promise of an immediate handover.
Buy the speaker you can assess today
Here is the important wrinkle: Apple says Siri AI will arrive in a future software update. That includes its more conversational assistant and personal-context capabilities; the announcement gives no firm delivery date.
Apple’s S10 chip handles computational audio. Sound Glow pulses the top with music and matches album-art colours; controlling it by voice requires an Apple Intelligence-enabled iPhone on the latest software.
That changes how to judge the price. If the feature that persuades you is the assistant remembering something from another app, waiting for the update is a sensible option. A polished demonstration is not a delivery receipt, however charming the animation.
If you mainly want a speaker, make music the audition. Try a familiar vocal track, something bass-heavy and a quieter recording at the volume you would actually use. Listen for intelligible voices and a tonal balance you enjoy. A louder showroom moment can be very persuasive; your Tuesday breakfast is the more useful test.

Count the whole setup
A 20W USB-C power adapter is included. The speaker supports stereo pairing and multiroom audio.
Two units therefore cost CAD $398 before tax. Decide whether you want one listening spot or a wider setup before casually adding another sphere to the basket. Small speakers can acquire a surprisingly large extended family.
For television plans, read our Apple TV 4K surround-sound coverage and check the complete hardware requirements first. A music purchase and a home-cinema purchase deserve separate totals.

Our audio buying guide can help compare that budget with other listening options. The useful rule today: let the current speaker earn its price; give the promised assistant a polite invitation to impress you when it actually arrives.
