Meta Forum gives group admins a shared calendar and AI rule checks
Meta’s new Forum admin tools have a wonderfully ordinary ambition: help the people running a Facebook group keep up. The October 23 announcement adds a shared scheduling calendar, more flexible moderation rules and AI-assisted checks on pending posts. If three moderators have ever each prepared a cheerful Monday welcome, perhaps the group has been welcomed quite sufficiently. A calendar everyone can see sounds like a small mercy.
A shared view of what is already scheduled
Admins and moderators can now see their team’s scheduled posts together in Forum. Meta says admin AI can also help draft and schedule up to five posts at once. The shared view is the part we would try first: it can reveal a busy day, an empty stretch or two people planning almost the same conversation.

The benefit is practical coordination, rather than simply producing more posts. A reading group might want room for members’ reactions before the next discussion question arrives. A neighbourhood group might need one clear update that stays easy to find. The calendar is useful when it helps people make those choices; it does not have to fill every square like an anxious little sticker album.
The pending queue gets a different kind of help.
AI tags suggest; administrators still decide
Admin AI can tag pending posts as likely meeting or going against the group’s rules. Admin Assist separately gains more flexible automated rules combining conditions such as post length, links and prior moderation actions. Meta also adds insights tailored to a group’s stage, and comment pinning so an answer or clarification can stay visible.
Those are different jobs. A suggestion can help an administrator notice a questionable post, while a configured rule can carry out routine moderation. Start with clear group rules and check how the results fit actual conversations. An affectionate in-joke and a genuine insult can share a surprising amount of vocabulary. Knowing the people remains a fairly useful moderator feature.

We have not tested the suggestions’ accuracy or how consistently the new controls appear. For a busy group, the sensible first trial is a familiar task with a result the team can easily review. A pinned explanation may prevent more confusion than an elaborate new rule. Sometimes the best automation is letting one good answer stop doing laps around the comments.
One regional detail before going looking for the app.
Forum is available in the US
Meta lists Forum on iOS and Android in the US, using a Facebook account to sign in. Its earlier September overview describes a dedicated app synced with Facebook groups, which it had already been testing since May. This week’s news is the administrator update, rather than a new worldwide app launch. The announcement does not establish Canadian availability.
For another shared publishing workflow, our Buffer Notes report looks at keeping feedback beside a draft; our Canva Craft coverage follows creating the graphics. Forum’s most appealing promise is giving volunteers more time for the community itself. Fewer duplicate announcements, clearer answers, and perhaps a moderator who gets to finish a cup of tea while it still remembers being hot.
