Final’s new ASMR earbuds offer two flavours of very close listening

ASMR has a very particular enemy: the household fan that decides your quiet little whisper video needs an industrial backing track. Final’s new earbuds are designed for this unusually delicate negotiation.

The company launched two ZE300 for ASMR models in Japan on November 4. The standard version costs an expected ¥7,980 including tax, while ASMR 3D is ¥8,980. Final describes the navy model as placing sound inside the head, and the latte 3D version as positioning it close to the ear or skin, outside the head. Those are its tuning claims, not results from our listening tests.

Pick the feeling, rather than the bigger-looking name

The useful choice is between two intended presentations. If you like a voice feeling exceptionally close and centred, the standard model is the one to audition. If you prefer the impression of a sound moving around you, ask to compare the 3D version with the same recording. We have not tested either.

Here’s the small but important bit: “3D” does not establish that every track becomes more convincing. Your preferred recording is a much better audition companion than a name printed on a box. Take the familiar one. Yes, even the oddly specific crinkly-paper video. It has a job today.

A quieter interruption, including from the earbuds themselves

Final’s official product page describes gentle noise cancellation, an ambient mode and an option to turn noise control off. Its ASMR mode disables touch controls, guidance voices and system sounds. Each earbud weighs approximately 4g. Supported codecs are SBC and AAC; claimed playback is up to 5.5 hours from the earbuds and 16.5 hours with the case.

Disabling controls has an obvious appeal when a stray hand would otherwise pause the exact moment you finally settled down. Learn how to enter and leave that mode before starting a session. The soothing whisper should not require a tiny troubleshooting meeting halfway through.

For shopping purposes, compare the earbuds-only battery figure with your listening routine. The case total is not one uninterrupted session. And treat fit as its own decision: the weight figure cannot tell you how a particular shell will feel in your ears.

A specialist purchase still needs an ordinary checklist

Before importing a Japan-market pair, check delivery, taxes, returns and warranty coverage for your location. These are Japanese prices, not Canadian offers. Keep the full model names on your shortlist so the standard ZE300, ZE300 for ASMR and ASMR 3D do not quietly become the same item in a search result.

Our audio buying guide helps compare broader priorities; our report on Final’s USB-C E500 and VR3000 covers a separate wired route.

The takeaway: audition the two presentations with something you know, then check the practical bits. An intimate sound is the promise. Whether it is your kind of intimate is the part a specification sheet cannot answer.
