XREAL 1 Pro+ opens Japanese preorders—with a brightness footnote
A private screen that travels in your bag is an appealing little fantasy. Hotel television behaving badly? Train journey ahead? Put on the glasses and let your entertainment develop a completely unreasonable sense of scale.
XREAL’s November 2 Japanese announcement introduced the 1 Pro+, with preorders ahead of a November 10 shipping start. The glasses are ¥84,980 including tax; a preorder bundle with XREAL Eye is ¥91,960. The announced bundle window ends November 9 at 23:59 Japan time. These are Japanese offers, not Canadian prices.
The brightness number has a mode attached
XREAL advertises up to 1,200 nits peak brightness, but its specification table separately lists 375 nits during 3DoF spatial anchoring. It also claims real-time 2D-to-3D conversion at 60fps, a 57-degree field of view and new nose pads. These are manufacturer specifications; we have not tested the glasses.
Here’s why that distinction matters. Compare the display mode you intend to use, rather than letting the largest brightness figure do all the talking. The useful question is how comfortably you can read or watch your own material in your own setting. A heroic number is allowed to attend the meeting. It does not get to chair it.

Start with the port on the device you already own
The announcement specifies USB-C video input using DisplayPort Alt Mode. Native tracking is 3DoF; the separate XREAL Eye adds 6DoF tracking. The official Japanese listing offers M and L IPD options and includes a USB-C cable, three nose-pad sizes and a protective case.
Before ordering, check the exact phone, laptop or handheld you plan to connect. A connector that physically fits is only the beginning: confirm video-output support and any adapter requirements. Write down the whole setup, including power and the accessories needed for your preferred use. Suddenly buying “just the glasses” can become a modest cable-management hobby.
Fit deserves equal attention. Check the listed IPD option against your measurements, and understand how prescription lenses would be handled if you use them. If a demonstration is available, bring a page of ordinary text as well as an exciting video. Tiny menu labels are remarkably good at interrupting a cinematic mood.

Keep the different XREAL products straight
This is a separate product from the Android XR-based AURA covered in our Docomo Japanese rollout report. Compare the exact hardware and connection arrangement, rather than assuming every pair with the same brand offers the same experience.
Our Wearables & XR desk follows the wider options. For an import, include delivery, taxes, warranty and returns in the calculation, and confirm current preorder availability with the seller.
The takeaway: the 1 Pro+ offers a specific Japanese preorder route and some interesting display claims. Check the actual operating mode, source-device connection and fit before choosing the accessory bundle. The tiny theatre can wait for its tiny checklist.
