Samsung W27 opens Chinese preorders from CNY 18,999

The W27 looks like a foldable phone that has already booked the private meeting room. Its gold-edged styling is quite committed to the entrance. Underneath that presentation, though, the buying question is wonderfully unglamorous: what would you actually do with a tablet-sized screen every day?

Samsung’s October 29 launch page introduces China’s W27 foldable. The official store lists CNY 18,999 for 16GB/512GB and CNY 21,999 for 16GB/1TB, marked for preorder.

Give that larger screen a proper job

Samsung lists 8-inch inner and 6.5-inch outer displays, 215g weight and 8.9mm folded thickness excluding cameras. It specifies Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy, a 200MP main camera and 5000mAh typical battery capacity. One UI 9 supports two- and three-window layouts.

Try describing your most common two-app task before you fall for a multitasking demonstration. Perhaps you need a document beside a message, or a calendar beside the information you are entering. Check whether your actual apps behave usefully in that arrangement. Three windows are only impressive if at least two of them have a reason to be there.

Then fold the idea back down. The outside screen is what you would use for quick replies, one-handed checks and the little tasks you do while carrying something else. Assess that experience as carefully as the expanded view. A phone that dazzles at a desk still has to survive the practical examination known as walking out the door with a bag.

That makes it worth comparing complete packages instead of bare-device headlines. Note storage, included protection, warranty support and the exact amount due before trade-in or conditional rewards. A collection of benefits is not automatically equivalent to cash off the purchase. Give each one a value only if you would use it and meet its conditions.
