iQOO Pad Pro 8.8 launches in China with OLED and a fan
Some small tablets want to be the sensible travelling companion. The iQOO Pad Pro 8.8 has apparently packed a fan and decided it is coming to game night instead. That is a rather charming use of ambition, provided the games you love can use what it brings.
The small gaming tablet is on sale in China
iQOO’s official October 28 launch posts, reproduced by Sina, introduce the Pad Pro 8.8 alongside the Neo12 phone. The tablet’s official specifications list CNY 4,299 for 8GB RAM and 256GB storage. Advertised lower prices depend on platform offers and eligible Chinese subsidies.
The size is the first useful detail. Its 8.8-inch AMOLED screen reaches 165Hz in supported games; the tablet weighs a listed 298g. The product overview directs buyers to support for the game list.

Cooling matters; so does your actual game library
Inside are Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 and Q3, plus active cooling. The battery’s typical capacity is 9020mAh, with 66W charging.
Those specifications describe the proposal, not a DeviceCritique performance result. We have not tested the tablet. Sustained frame rates, noise and surface warmth need checking together, rather than allowing a fan-shaped feature to certify its own success. A gadget being very enthusiastic about cooling is not quite the same thing as a quiet evening.
Here is the comparison worth making. Think about how you want to hold a game for more than a quick look. A small tablet can be appealing when a phone feels cramped and a larger slate feels like balancing a tray. Whether this particular size suits you is a fit decision; a screen diagonal cannot tell us where your thumbs want to land.

Keep accessories and regional support in the budget
The controller in iQOO’s promotional artwork is sold separately. Include whatever control setup you actually want in your comparison, rather than mentally adopting every prop in a glossy picture. Manufacturers are very good at arranging a tempting little scene. Your shopping basket is allowed to be pickier.
This announcement establishes the Chinese offering, not Canadian availability or a local warranty. Confirm app compatibility, regional services and support before considering an import. An attractive size is not a reason to skip the unglamorous checks that determine whether a device belongs in your day.
Our coverage of the OPPO Pad Mini offers another small-screen reference. For a different platform and price context, see the new iPad mini’s Canadian offering. The useful question is which games, controls and support arrangement work for you; the loudest spec should not automatically win custody of your evenings.
